Good news for Apple fans! Today, the company officially announced its newest gadget, the 4-inch retina display iPhone 5. The new phone, made of glass and aluminum, is the thinnest, lightest phone ever made by the company, according to Mashable.
The taller phone features an additional row of icons, and boasts brand-new software updates, writes Gizmodo.
The phone is faster, too, with “ultrafast wireless” and speedier CPU and graphics, along with the new Lightning connector -- which will have an adapter you can use to plug into old accessories, according to TechCrunch.
In addition, Apple announced a new iPod Nano, a new iPod Touch Mini and a new full-sized iPod Touch, along with new “ear pods,” which are upgraded ear buds that are less harmful to a user’s hearing. Plus, iTunes has gotten a facelift, as well.
And for those who are curious, here is some of the other cool info covered in the unveiling:
- 84 million iPads have been sold since the product debuted
- Mountain Lion is the fastest-selling OS X of all time
- More than 700,000 apps are now available in the App Store
