Garageband Basics

How do I get started? We’ll show you how to create a new session so that you are ready to create music.

How do I record my voice or instrument? There a few different ways to connect microphones and instruments. We’ll show you how easy it is, the different options you have and the advantages of each option.

Why isn’t it working? There are usually a few things that you need set up with your Garageband program. And with the Mac it work’s smooth. We’ll walk you through your settings so that you’re good to go.

The red light is on! It’s time to record and that can be a little scary. It doesn’t need to be. This is where the fun begins.

Show them what’s behind box #1! You probably didn’t know, but Garageband comes with software based instruments, effects and loops! There are lots of ways to use these tools to really flesh out your songs or just run off with some crazy ideas. We’ll be doing a little of both.

It slices! It dices! There are some great tools for manipulating your tracks and it’s easier than you think. We’ll show you how  to tear it apart and put it back together.

Saving your songs You don’t want to loose your hard work. We’ll show you how to hang on to your growing catalog of music.

Look what I made! You’ll want to show off your songs to friends and family. Turning your Garageband session into mp3s, ready for iTunes is so easy.
