Companies Offer Convergence of Audio/Visual and PC Technologies for Home and Business
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – August 5, 2010 – Two local companies, Ovation and MacExperience, have collaborated to offer consumers the best of the computer and entertainment worlds by bringing together Apple products and audio/visual technology. To celebrate the new relationship, and display the latest possibilities for converging home audio/video and computer technologies, Ovation will have a grand re-opening on Friday, August 13 through Sunday, August 15 as they welcome MacExperience to their Castleton store at 6609 E. 82nd St., Indianapolis.
The partnership, in the works since earlier this year, occurred because of the many advances in audio/visual and computer systems that have made options in home theater, music, computing and networking simpler and more affordable. Many digital televisions and BluRay players now have Internet applications built in, such as Netflix for on-demand movies and Pandora for digital music. In addition, many of the Apple products, such as the iPod and iPad, offer applications for creating touch-screen control systems for lighting, HVAC, audio/visual and more within the home or commercial setting.
“I think this partnership will make people aware of the possibilities of using everyday products to control everything in our home and office,” said Gary McCormick, founder of Ovation. “Before, if you shopped for a touch-screen controller for your home, it was fairly expensive. Now, we can use Apple products such as the iPod or iPad to control everything from your lighting to your thermostat and audio system, and at a third or more of the cost.”
During the grand re-opening weekend, the two companies will offer refreshments as well as special sale prices throughout the store, including Apple products. In addition, Ovation and MacExperience will conduct on-demand seminars on how to make Apple products a part of the home audio/video system. Ovation will demonstrate the latest in 3-D and Internet television and home theater systems, as well as highlight their complete selection of iPod-compatible headphones, outdoor music products and car stereos. MacExperience will feature the entire line of apple computers and iPods, and its Apple-certified technicians can assist customers with product upgrades and repairs.
Ovation, which has been serving the Indianapolis market since 1986 from its Greenwood and Castleton locations, expanded its Castleton store in the early 1990s, and has recently remodeled and updated its displays in preparation for the grand re-opening. MacExperience, in business since 2001, has locations in downtown Indianapolis, Greenwood and Bloomington. The company chose to relocate its east side location to a new Castleton store, and opened August 1 in the right corner of the Ovation store.
The two companies plan to continue their collaboration by participating in joint marketing efforts and promotions and in-store demonstrations.
“When Ovation talked with us about this partnership, it made sense to join forces to offer customers the best of both worlds,” said Joel Read, President of MacExperience. “Apple is the hottest product in the world right now, and it really integrates with what Ovation is doing with the audio/video and home theater side of things. No combination of companies can offer what we offer together – and in one place.”
